The EUROPEAN STATISTICAL FORUM is pleased to announce its
3rd Annual Conference:
Advancing adaptive
designs for the identifications
of subpopulations and the new
frontiers of benefit
risk assessment
Monday, 19th November 2012
Hotel Palace Berlin
Budapester Straβe 45, Berlin, Germany
8:45 am – 5:00 pm GMT+1
The third
edition of the European Statistical Forum is dedicated to explore and
understand two of the new key challenges for drug development:
• the detection of subpopulations with the highest treatment response
and
• the benefit-risk ratio requirement and
methodologies with a particular focus
to the submission process.
The current advances in molecular profiling and genomic biomarkers
provide new challenges for clinical trials design and statistical
analysis. The conference will provide insights on adaptive designs for
population enrichment and subgroup selection and may provide powerful tools for the identification of biomarkers predictive of treatment
benefit in order to apply this knowledge to better treat patients in the
future.
Positive phase III trials are no longer a guarantee for the approval of
a new compound. Risk-benefit assessments are getting more and more
important for a successful registration as well as reimbursement,
increasing the still high attrition rate for new therapeutics. The
conference will explore this key area of clinical trial development by
bringing together experts in the fields.
Specific attention
will be deserved to the most advanced methodological, operational and
regulatory characteristics of these two key aspects of drug development.
